
An excellent campaign by Fleim.fi (a Finnish youth magazine / web community promoting Christian values and viewpoint). They encourage people to make religion a more personal issue by pimping their bibles and posting them to the website where they are then rated by everybody. Paint, felt pens, cloth, glue, wire, or anything else people can get their hands on are used; imagination is the limit. The page is only in Finnish, but you can view the posts here.
This should end most discussion about whether or not it is appropriate to let customers toy with your brand. I mean, if God can do it, so can you.
Fleim has other good stuff too that gets me excited about their thing (and I’m not a religious person): they talk about movies and pop culture on their front page (as opposed to having an ‘How abstinence improves a teen’s life’ -article). You can also play the ‘Holy Smoke’ quiz game or participate the ‘What’s Holy to Me?’ competition by SMS. Clearly a brand that takes their customers’ perspective to the heart.

PimpMyBible.com had also a outdoor campaign. They made it a bit extra-ordinary by using stickers with their urls posted in “unofficial” places, such as electricity boxes and trashcans around the city.
As far as I’ve seen, that kind of free (but often also illegal) outdoor space is often used only by party organizers etc. So again, seeing the “holy spirit announcer” using illegal space for advertising, made nice and fresh outlook for the magazine. Well done
